Consumer Reports: VTech Kidizoom and Lego Cameras Stand Out in First-Ever ...

None of the kid's cameras tested produced images that compared in quality to the regular digital camera they were compared to: the Kodak Easy Share C123, . The VTech Kidizoom produced fair images overall, however, making it the best kid camera for image quality. With its bright appearance and kid-pleasing ability to add effects to images, it's the magazine's standout choice for kids 3 to 7.

For older children, age 7 and up, consider the Lego Digital Camera. It was judged easiest to use by the kid panelists, who also liked the option to build other Lego bricks onto the device.  For tech-savvy kids 9 or older, Consumer Reports says a low-priced, regular camera is also worth considering. That includes the Kodak Easy Share C123, a competent camera with some useful kid-friendly extras such as waterproofing.

I bought V-Readers for my grandchildren this year for Christmas, and since they nearly immediately lost the manuals for the readers, I did not know where the SD card slot was in order to download the 6 free games. When I searched Amazon, I was led to this product and ordered it, for .99.

Granted I did not do my homework and was too busy to research too much, so it was no real surprise when I received the memory card, and after realizing it was the wrong thing, pulled up an online manual and finally took the time to find the SD slot, which, of course, I plugged an SD card from my camera into, and downloaded the games easily onto.

But the real disappointment was not in the actual product, which I am sure is fine, but it came from Amazon with a Walmart mark-down sticker on the package for, are you ready? .00. Please! That seems like an unbelievable markup on Amazon’s part, even if the original price at Walmart was twice the markdown price.

You pretty much need one of these if you want the full advantage of the games for the VFlash system. The memory card works fine. At first I thought it wasn’t working because the system wasn’t picking it up, but I just didn’t have pushed all the way in. You just have to push it in until it sort of clicks into place. I wish these came standard with the VFlash system, but the memory card was pretty cheap so no big deal.

I was only seeing to spend nearby $ 12.98 and I absolutely wasn’t expecting to find anyone great at that price. But then I continued to hear
