WWE: Randy Orton isn't anything like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin ...

Finally, The Cool has come back to EGW.

Today I’ve brought up an issue that I feel I need to get off my chest. In fact, an issue is just a small part of the man this whole post is dedicated on. That man is Randy Orton.

You see, I’ve read tons of stuff from the Internet Wrestling Community that state that Randy Orton is this era’s “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. And there are a ton of problems with that statement.

First of all, Stone Cold was an amazing talker on the microphone.

Nobody can deny Stone Cold is one of the best talkers in the wrestling industry. Whenever he put that mic up to his face, we all knew we were getting treated to greatness.

Randy Orton’s mic work isn’t half-bad himself; it’s all bad. Randy Orton is one of the worst talkers in the industry today.

I wish I could write an example of how boring Randy is on the mic, but that’s not possible. But I will present to you a video of a video of Randy Orton speaking on the mic.

Now after you watch this, you can say that he’s monotone or that he’s bland. But when it comes down to the truth though, he’s just a robot. That promo was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in my life.

And then we get to the in-ring skills of both wrestlers.

Stone Cold was a fine wrestler who had a great moveset, while Randy Orton is as horrible as anything I’ve seen in my life. I’ll get more to that aspect as I compare him to John Cena.

Another note I should mention, is Stone Cold could grow a fine beard (sans sideburns), while Randy Orton fails completely at growing one.

But then we get to the final aspect of my comparisons. The “out-of-nowhere” feel to their finishing moves.

Stone Cold did a Stunner, in which he grabbed his opponents neck and bent it down while falling to the mat. That may not be the best description, but it will work.

Randy Orton’s RKO on the other hand, is the most harmless thing I’ve ever seen in my life. In fact, I’d rather be on the receiving end of an RKO than the one doing it.

When Randy does the RKO to people – which is supposed to hurt their face – he protects his opponents head by landing on the tip of his elbow. Only once have I seen his opponent’s head actually touch the mat; and that’s with Rob Van Dam. It’s the most overrated move I have ever seen in my life.
