All In for a Cure gala scheduled for Oct. 22

Honorary Chairs are Chris and Robert Adler. Other chairs for the event are Deborah Fisher, Meridith Carter and Susan Gonzales. They plan to host an evening featuring a Las Vegas-style show, a casino, dinner and more.

The Performing Arts Center will be awash in the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. Conductor Lee Gwozdz and a full symphony orchestra will take a spin on the musical roulette wheel with hip classics such as "Luck Be A Lady," "Hey Big Spender," and even "Godzilla Eats Vegas."

The cast of high rollers will include Scott Elliff singing great Sinatra classics. The music, the celebrities, the surprise showgirls and the American Diabetes Association audience all will be musically honored in this fast-paced, jackpot evening of musical hit after hit.

This year the Cure-Care-Commitment award recipient is Allen Borden and Driscoll Children's Hospital. Each is being recognized for commitment to the mission of the organization in raising awareness of diabetes, its causes and impact..

Borden has volunteered for the American Diabetes Association for nearly 20 years. His leadership and focus on strengthening awareness and education programs in the community has brought attention to the organization's efforts.

Driscoll Children's Hospital has supported Camp Sandcastle, a day camp for children with Type 1 diabetes, by providing medical staff for more than 10 years. Through the leadership and support of Borden and Driscoll's Children Hospital, diabetes education and awareness is more evident in this community today.

Charity group helps Casa de Amor

The Ronald McDonald House of Corpus Christi recently hosted a meet and great luncheon at the Ronald McDonald House honoring Mrs. Laura Berry, this years' Ronald McDonald House's Casa de Amor Honoree.

The meet and greet luncheon was hosted by Denise Mosser, Co-Chair of the event, along with the staff and board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House. Elizabeth Vanexanalso is chairing the event this year.

First McDermott, Now Segrest: Philadelphia Eagles Fire Another ...

Just one day after the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have fired defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, the team announced that it has fired another coach on the defense.

Defensive line coach Rory Segrest has been fired by the team.

Andy Reid stated that he believes the Eagles have talent on the defensive line but they are underachieving.
